This paper deals with the effect of W-W interface features and contamination on the erosion behavior of W-Cu composite. To change the fracture mode of composite, W-Cu compacts were prepared using two different furnace atmosphere: hydrogen and vacuum atmosphere. The erosion of specimens observed after the static firing. SEM images were employed to identify the microstructure evolution. The obtained results showed that surface erosion transform from uniform to non-uniform mode after sintering in the vacuum graphite furnace. These results discussed based on carbon contamination and fracture mode.
