In this paper, a decentralized switched current control is presented for dc microgrids. The dc microgrid is modeled considering dc-dc converters as controlled current sources instead of traditional voltage sources in droop control schemes. The proposed current control consists of switching between two current reference signals while keeping the voltage level at the loads and with proper current distribution. It is shown that the closed-loop system is stable through passivity analysis. Experimental tests are performed to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed control strategy using a laboratory microgrid.
