The surface property of Fe3O4 can be improved through functionalization with sulphanilamide. Thus obtained nanohybrid was characterized by FTIR spectroscopy, UV-visible spectroscopy, Fluorescence spectroscopy, XRD, FESEM and VSM techniques. The main aim of the present investigation is to study the surface catalytic effect of nanohybrid on the sedimentation velocity of starch under three different pHs such as acidic, alkaline and neutral and further it was characterized by FTIR, VSM and SEM like analytical tools. The experimental results indicated that the settling velocity of starch was increased in the presence of nanohybrid than in its absence. The settling velocity of starch was found to be higher at alkaline pH whereas under acidic pH the structure of both nanohybrid and starch were degraded and resulted with lower settling velocity.
