In this work, we reported a facile and efficient synthesis of tiny Au satellites decorated Fe3O4@3-aminophenolformaldehyde core-shell nanoparticles (denoted as Fe3O4@APF@Au). Multiple Au nanoparticles (Au NPs) with well dispersity were directly deposited within APF layer in the absence of external reducing agent. Fe3O4@APF@Au NPs exhibited excellent catalytic activity and recyclability for organic dyes. Especially, the catalysts showed faster catalytic performance for cationic methylene blue (MB)compared with anionic methyl orange (MO) due to electrostatic interaction. The facile synthesis method of tiny Au satellites decorated Fe3O4@APF core-shell nanoparticles in this work would provid a platform for other catalytic applications.
