Despite a wide application of chemical power supplies, they still have basic disadvantages that stimulate a search for alternative power supplies which do not require periodic replacement and recovery of spent components. This task is relevant, in particular, for the electronic medical thermometers. Thermoelectric microgenerators using human body heat show promise for solving this problem. This paper presents the results of development of the thermoelectric power supply for the electronic medical thermometer. Object-oriented computer simulation has been used to determine the impact of the thermoelectric power supply on the accuracy of measuring human body temperature. The thermometer design minimizing the impact of the thermoelectric power supply on the temperature sensor readings has been developed. Technical and economic features have been studied and ecological and economic expediency of such thermometer implementation into medical practice has been confirmed.
