We report that simple aryl(trialkyl) silanes undergo crosscoupling reaction with alkyl (pseudo) halides in the presence of copper iodide/phenanthroline catalyst and cesium fluoride. Various aryl(trialkyl) silanes and alkyl electrophiles having iodine, bromine, chlorine, and tosyloxy group are applicable to the present reaction. Because such silanes are stable and readily accessible by catalytic C-H silylation, this protocol allows us to synthesize alkylarenes rapidly.
