Pt nanoparticles supported on SBA-15 and amino-fimctionalized SBA-15 carriers with different Pt loadings were synthesized and characterized by BET, FTIR, XRD, HR-TEM and zeta potential towards the liquid phase catalytic reduction of bromate by hydrogen. The obtained results indicate that the catalytic reaction performance of Pt@NH2-SBA-15 solids was always significantly higher than that of Pt@SBA-15 for the same Pt loading due to the high zeta potential of NH2-SBA-15, which alludes to the ability of the amino-functionalization of SBA-15 to promote Pt catalyst activity for the reduction of aqueous bromate ions.
