Current clinical irrelevance of luteal phase deficiency: a committee opinion

Luteal phase deficiency (LPD) has been described in healthy normally menstruating women and in association with other medical conditions. Although progesterone is important for the process of implantation and early embryonic development, LPD, as an independent entity causing infertility, has not been proven.
