A novel WOx-EDA nanowires/PEDOT/PSS hybrid material was successfully synthesized by a convenient two-step method. The diameters and lengths of WOx nanowires were 50-200nm and 10-30 mu m, respectively. SEM and TEM images proved the good interaction between PEDOT/PSS and WOx nanowires. Their gas sensing properties, studied at room temperature, exhibit a good sensitivity (similar to 6.76), a fast response (similar to 18s) to 10ppm NH3, and an excellent detection limit. The new material has a better sensitivity than that of WOx nanowires towards NH3, which might be attributed to a synergetic interaction between PEDOT/PSS and WOx nanowires.
