Making use of the Hirota's bilinear form, lump-type solutions for the (2+1)-dimensional generalized fifth-order KdV equation are presented. The interactions between lump-type solutions and double exponential function are discussed. The physical structure and characteristics for these obtained solutions are demonstrated in some three-dimensional plots and corresponding contour plots. (C) 2018 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
