In this paper we compare the features of the dynamic stochastic resonance in a double-well potential dynamical system under Gaussian white and alpha-stable Levy noise. We obtain the optimal tuning relation between the period of the periodic signal and the noise intensity which maximizes the probability to change the potential well during a short time window around the half-period. Since the jump diffusion has a unique characteristic time scale, the results differ strongly from the Gaussian stochastic resonance. (C) 2016 The Authors. Published by Elsevier Ltd.
