Carbon nanomaterials and metal-organic frameworks are all research hotspots in the field of energy which have important applications in catalysis and electrochemistry. We present a self-catalytic and controllable strategy for the fabrication of different morphologies and species of carbon nanomaterials under different temperatures via a nickel MOF (Ni-2(bdc)(2)dabco) as the precursor.
