CuS-carbon nanotubes hybrid ( CuS-CNTs) was prepared by a one-pot, microwave-assisted solvothermal method. The composition and structure of the hybrid were characterized by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy and transmission electron microscopy. As a binder-free anode material for lithium-ion batteries, the hybrid exhibited high reversible capacity, good cycle stability and rate capability. The enhanced electrochemical performances can be attributed to binder-free electrode and synergetic effect between CuS and carbon nanotubes in the hybrid. (C) 2016 Published by Elsevier B.V.
