A combined kinetic and theoretical study was conducted in order to clarify the details on the reaction mechanism for Ni-0/ItBu-catalyzed intramolecular alkene hydroacylation. The results confirm the hypothesis that this intramolecular hydroacylation proceeds through an oxanickelacycle key intermediate.
