The [2]rotaxane cross-linkers (RCs) comprising vinyl group-terminated axle component having different axle lengths and vinyl group-containing crown ether were synthesized, and applied to prepare the corresponding rotaxane cross-linked polymers (RCPs). The preparations of RCP were performed by the radical polymerizations of n-butyl acrylate in the presence of 0.5 mol% of RCs. Properties of the RCPs were evaluated by swelling ratio, clearly demonstrating that axle length of RC affects swelling ratio of RCPs.
