We report internally porous Au-embedded hematite on FTO using CTAB. Incorporation of Au and CTAB synergistically improved the photocurrent of hematite by 63% at 1.23 V-RHE in 1 M NaOH under standard illumination conditions. The performance enhancement is due to the increased donor density and optical properties of internally porous networks and plasmonic absorption of hematite.
