In this paper, application of an adsorbent, Eucalyptus leaves, in Methyl Violet (MV) dye removal from aqueous solution was studied in a batch system. The effective parameters on the adsorption such as the amount of adsorbent, pH, adsorbent particles size, dye concentration, contact time and temperature were investigated and optimized. Kinetics data were studied using pseudo first order, pseudo second order and intraparticle diffusion models. The obtained results showed that the adsorption data has the most conformity with, pseudo-second-order model. Thermodynamic studies showed that adsorption is a spontaneous and endothermic process. At the end, the proposed method was successfully applied for the removal of MV dye by Eucalyptus leaves in real samples.
