We demonstrate an environment-friendly solvent treatment that leads to a dramatic performance improvement of perovskite solar cells, with power conversion efficiency as high as 18%, with good stability. The solvent not only improves perovskite film morphology and crystallinity, but also, at proper growth conditions, leads to the formation of a self-induced textured structure on a dense layer; this increases the interface area between the perovskite active layer and the hole transport layer and thus improves photo generated current density. These results may open a new path to low-cost and high efficiency perovskite solar cells. (C) 2017 Optical Society of America
