The work is devoted to production of bio-additives based on rapeseed oil methyl and ethyl esters, which are suitable for the use in jet fuels. The application of vacuum distillation under low pressure was proposed for removal of additives and improving quality of esters. The pressure range suitable for vacuum distillation was determined by constructing boiling diagrams of individual esters applying Clapeyron-Clausius equation. The comparative characteristics of component composition and physical-chemical properties of rapeseed oil esters and esters after vacuum fractionation were presented. The main characteristics of jet fuels, which contain 10%, 20% and 30% of bio-additives based on rapeseed oil esters were studied. It was shown that physical-chemical properties of mixed jet fuel samples satisfy requirements of standards for traditional jet fuels. (C) 2017 The Authors. Published by Elsevier Ltd.
