Herein, an elastic phase change oleogel was prepared by adsorbing OP1OE into styrene-ethylene butylene-styrene (SEBS) triblock copolymers by simple impregnation method followed by shaping through hot pressing. The obtained OP10E/SEBS oleogel possessed a high latent heat value of 139.7 J.g(-1).The oleo-gel cuboid block can keep at 10 degrees C for 1800 s, making it suitable for cold compress therapy. Based on the body heat balance equations and thermal properties of the cooling hat, numerical simulation on human thermal regulation during fever was investigated, and thus a data base about the mass of required oleogel for children was obtained. The numerical investigation results revealed small amounts of the oleogel could bring down a fever. High cooling storage capability, high elastic property, excellent cooling release performance and good cycle performance make the new oleogel show great potential in cold compress therapy.
