Two solar-driven appliances are designed and fabricated to extract fresh water from atmosphere based on the sorption technique: one open type concept machine, and one improved semi-open type device. Both can be driven by the solar collector at 70-80 degrees C temperature. 0.32 kg water is collected in concept machine with roll-up shape of 2.25 kg ACF-CaCl2 sorbent. 9 kg water is collected with 4 m(2) solar collector area by the improved semi-open type device, and corrugated and flat sorbents is manufactured to pack 40.8 kg consolidated ACF-LiCl sorbents in 0.4 x 0.4 x 0.6 m bed.
