This work investigated the corrosion of carbon steel (CS1018) in the CO2 capture process, using various types of CO2 absorption solvents. The tested solvents included MEA, DEA, MDEA, AMP, and PZ. A series of laboratory corrosion tests were carried out using electrochemical techniques (DC-cyclic potentiodynamic polarization and AC-impedance measurements) to establish an engineering corrosion database for the CO2 capture process. Corrosiveness of various was ranked and parametric analysis of two operating conditions, i.e. temperature and CO2 loading, was analyzed. (C) 2017 The Authors. Published by Elsevier Ltd.
