A new method, named the regulation of crystal growth process with steric agent, was proposed. Analcime (ANA) was prepared via hydrothermal synthesis method with sodium silicate and aluminum hydroxide extracted from coal fly ash as raw material. The results suggested that the addition of steric agent favored increasing the crystallinity of analcime and the crystal particles with narrow size distribution. The K+ adsorption performance of ANA was enhanced by introducing 0.5 wt% SDBS in adsorption test.
