This paper presents a half-bridge and full-bridge DC-DC series resonant converters. The main feature of the converter is to investigate the achievement of the soft switching techniques and to produce high output power. Furthermore, both converters were tested by utilizing two different switching frequencies which are 40, and 45 kHz, where the resonant frequency is equal to 42.5 kHz to operate both the converters under zero current switching ZCS and zero voltage switching ZVS. Moreover, an experimental prototype of the both converters with the same parameters was conducted, and selected results were presented. Based on the outcomes of the experimental results, it was found that full-bridge converter provide much higher output power that almost twice of the output power that obtained by half-bridge converter, and the stress of the resonant current of the full bridge converter was much higher compared to the half bridge series resonant converter.
