This paper discusses and analyzes the relationship between the swelling, shrinkage and fracture of the Xigeda soil and landslides, and through the research on the formation mechanism of Xigeda soil landslide, the main disaster characteristics arc obtained, and it proves that rainwater is the primary inducement for the landslide of Xigeda soil slope in Panxi area, which provides a theoretical basis for the further study on the landslide of the Xigeda slope and has certain practical significance.
