The present study investigates the effect of additives such as CsNO3 and imidazolium ionic liquids on the cloud point (CP) of Triton X-100. Thermodynamic parameters of the clouding process were determined in order to understand the interactions. CP was found to increase with the increase in concentration of most of the ionic liquids studied. This increase of CP reflects the solubilization of the ionic liquids in the micellar phase(1). The thermodynamic parameters on the introduction of CsNO3 in TX-100 - ionic liquid system helps in understanding the different interactions occurring in the system. All Delta G values for clouding were found to be positive and hence made the process non spontaneous.
