Metal matrix composites are one of the major advances in fabrication of advanced materials for high-tech applications. This research paper is dedicated to investigate the proper casting parameters such as volume percent of reinforcement particle and casting temperature for enhancement of mechanical properties of Al-B4C metal matrix composite. It is found that 10 vol% of B4C and the casting temperature of 850 degrees C give the best results in heart of mechanical properties such as tensile strength and toughness. It is also tried to relate the observed superior properties to microstructural features for the better description of enhanced properties. The main reason for these observations is found to be related to the formation of adhesive oxide layer between particles and the metallic matrix.
