The selective reduction and boronation of the P-phenyl phosphole oxide dimer applying BH3SMe2 as the reagent was investigated. The optimized protocol allowing the POPBH3 conversion at 26 degrees C in concentrated CH2Cl2 solution could be well extended also to a series of P-alkyl phosphole oxide dimers.
