The aim of this paper is to prove that the Lagrangian flow describing Equatorially-trapped water waves presented by Constantin (2014) is dynamically possible. This is achieved by proving that the three-dimensional mapping which describes the nonlinear exact solution to the geophysical governing equations is a global diffeomorphism. (C) 2016 Elsevier Ltd.
