In the current period of sustainable development policy implementation, energy planning has become complex due to the involvement of multiple criteria: social, economic and environmental. In this study, a hybrid MCDM model based on FAHP and FTOPSIS is proposed to evaluate and prioritize five low-emission energy technologies development in Poland. For this purpose, a number of criteria are defined from the viewpoint of accomplishment of sustainable development policy goals in Poland. The research results show that renewable energy technologies should be utilized instead of nuclear energy. The results are compared with those obtained by classical and combined FAHP-TOPSIS decision-making models. (C) 2018 The Authors. Published by Elsevier Ltd.
