The spherical and flake-like BaFe12O19 (BaM)/Polyvinyl Butyral (PVB) ternary composite with ordered microstructure were prepared by a tape-casting process. Remarkable enhancement of the permittivity and permeability were observed, with the BaM templates added orderly into the composite. An enhanced electromagnetic wave absorption (EMA) performance was obtained for the BaM templates based specimen, in which the maximum reflection loss is -39.8 dB at 12.1 GHz and the effective EMA band (< - 10 dB) covers the whole frequency range of 10.4- 14.8 GHz.
