In this work, we reported on the synthesis of novel MoS2-modified AgVO3 composites via a facile two-step method. The effects of MoS2 content on the structure and properties of AgVO3 were investigated. The results demonstrated that the as-prepared MoS2/AgVO3 composites showed enhanced photocatalytic performance toward degradation of Rhodamine B (RhB) under visible-light irradiation compared with individual MoS2 and AgVO3. Such a remarkable enhancement of photocatalytic activity was mainly ascribed to the improved separation efficiency of photogenerated electron-hole pairs. The trapping experiments of active species confirmed that h(+) and O-2(center dot-) are the predominant active species for RhB degradation.
