Crystalline metal-organic framework (MOF) nanosheets have been fabricated from a new bulk MOF (1) which is assembled by ZnII metal ions as nodes and the drug ibuprofen as ligand. Surfactant-assisted synthetic method was used to control the growth of bulk MOF to obtain MOF nanosheets and the obtained MOF nanosheets exhibit good biodegradability and pH-controlled ibuprofen release.
