Gold nanoparticles can be used as photodynamic therapy (PDT) agent. Singlet oxygen (102) can be generated while gold nanorods and gold bipyramids under laser irradiation directly, which used as efficient PDT agents in vivo. In this study, we prepared the gold nanotriangles (GNTs) through a green synthesis method and demonstrated that O-1(2) can be generated when GNTs were irradiated at the wavelengths of 808 nm with low power density (500 mW cm(-2)). We also investigated the PDT and photothermal therapy (PIT) effect on the cell viabilities of HeLa cell.
