The present work focuses on the growth of tin oxide (SnO2) nanoparticles by low temperature hydrothermal method. Phase purity, composition and optical study of prepared SnO2 nanoparticles were carried out by XRD, FTIR and UV-Vis analysis. Band gap of the grown nanoparticles are found to be 3.7eV. From the adsorption studies, it would be clear that synthesized SnO2 nanoparticles should be used as an effective adsorbent for the removal of malachite green dye from aqueous solutions. The kinetic data indicated that the adsorption of malachite green was controlled by pseudo-second order kinetic model.
