The increasing penetration of combined heat and power (CHP) sources improves system energy efficiency and economic benefits in integrated energy system (IES) with electric power system (EPS) and district heating system (DHS). However, IES operators are facing challenges in modeling IES accurately and efficiently due to different time scales of EPS and DHS and complexity from multiple distributed energy resources (DER) and variable mass flow rate. To overcome the difficulty of different time scales and complexity, this paper proposes a quasi-dynamic IES model and corresponding calculation method. The proposed model solved by corresponding method reflect the dynamics of DHS considering variable mass flow rate and multiple DERs. In case studies, the comparison of quasi-dynamic model and traditional steady-state model for IES demonstrates the effectiveness and necessity of proposed model. Moreover, the advantages of proposed calculation method are provided in discussion. (C) 2019 The Authors. Published by Elsevier Ltd.
