The synthesis of a redox series of neodymium species bearing the redox active pyridine(diimine) ligand, (PDIMe)-P-Mes, is reported. Spectroscopic and structural characterization supports each compound has a Nd(iii) centre, with the (PDIMe)-P-Mes ligand existing in four oxidation states.
