Research and evaluation of bentonites adsorption properties are unavoidable steps for formulation of migration model for significant heavy metals like cooper. Influence of contact time, pH and adsorbent dosage on copper adsorption by natural Slovak bentonites JelovA 1/2 potok, Lieskovec and illite/smectite Dolna Ves were studied. Influence of contact time proved fast adsorption process. The equilibrium study was well-characterized by Langmuir model of isotherm and the value of maximum adsorption capacity was obtained by JelovA 1/2 potok. Based on these results it is possible to conclude that investigated adsorbents have satisfying adsorption properties for copper and can be used in waste and environmental management for removal of copper.
