In this paper, four macroscopic criteria for rupture prediction are considered for study. Analytical elasto-plastic material properties were used for simulation of tension using unit cube with symmetry boundary conditions. The commercial finite element code ABAQUS/Standard was used for simulation. The various stress-strain values obtained from simulation were post-processed for prediction of rupture using macroscopic criteria for maximum strain value of 1. Ayada, Brozzo, Oh and Rice-Tracey criteria were applied using MATLAB and the critical values of rupture were predicted. Rupture values obtained from analytical and simulated data were compared in order to perform validation. In conclusion, rupture values predicted from simulated stress-strain values have good agreement with the rupture values predicted with analytical data. Also, these four macroscopic rupture criteria were successfully applied on unit cube. (C) 2019 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
