In this work the Ag2CdI4 nanostructures have been synthesized via a solid state reaction in 200 A degrees C for 12 h. the mole ratio of AgI:CdI2 is 1:1 and these precursors have been synthesized by a precipitation method. The effect of presence of different surfactant on precursors powders have been investigated on morphology of products. On the other hand in presence of CTAB the best morphologies have been achieved and the effect of the value of CTAB have been investigated on the morphology of products. Nanostructures have been characterized using X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy and X-ray energy dispersive spectroscopy. The photocatalytic properties for degradation of different dyes under UV light have been investigated and observed these materials could be degraded methyl orange about 98%. And it's a best photocatalytic activity in comparison with other dyes.
