Modeling and Transient Simulation of Condenser Based on RELAP5

The best estimation procedure RELAP5 program is used to establish the model of condenser in the floating nuclear power plant. The steady-state calculation of the model of the condenser is carried out, and the dynamic characteristics of the steam turbine under the water stoppage condition are calculated. The calculated results show that error between the steady-state calculation result and design value is small. The model can meet the requirements of condenser thermal performance calculation, which establishes a good foundation for the conventional island thermal system simulation. The pressure of condenser increase rapidly after cutoff of the circulating cooling water, and the alarm pressure of the condenser is reached within 3s. Steam turbine should be unloaded promptly to ensure the safety of the power plant system.
