5G mobile communication services can create much more traffic than 4G ones because of their performance evolution in bit rate, latency, and capacity. Network slicing is a means to assure the communication qualities in the 5G mobile communication network and should decrease the interference like packet losses or delays in parallel with higher resource usage efficiency. Network slicing has been implemented in many studies and is classified into two mechanisms: soft-isolation and hard-isolation. In this study, we evaluate network slices using soft-isolation such as quality of services (QoS) features on routers or switches. We show how much QoS features can decrease the micro burst effect in terms of delay. We found that weighted fair queue (WFQ) and priority queueing (PQ) decrease the micro burst effect on 5G communication services, but QoS features still need to be configured properly to isolate traffic when micro bursts happen.
