We present characterization measurements of dark current signal at different temperatures and spectral sensitivity of cooled backside-illuminated EUV CCD matrices intended for future solar space missions, including projects ARKA and KORTES. The measurements have been conducted inside a vacuum chamber in the 125-250 angstrom spectral range with the use of tungsten laser-driven plasma as a source of EUV radiation. Applications of the EUV CCDs for contemporary and future space investigations of solar physics taking place in solar flares is being overviewed and discussed.
