This paper aims to review factors preventing university academics from embracing new Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) into their instructional methods and to discuss ways on how to overcome these issues. Integrating ICT into teaching and learning practices necessitates scholars to modify the way in which curriculum content is delivered. The notion of change brings about advantages and perceived barriers by academics who are at the fore front of the institution. This paper provides a literature review analyzing the issues related to ICT integration into classroom instruction. Finally, by using the Diffusion of Innovation theory as a theoretical lens to better understand educational change, the paper provides teaching tips offering practical solutions to guide and motivate academics on how to integrate ICTs into their classroom pedagogical practices.
