The present review highlights the latest developments in the field of transition metal-catalysed oxidations, in particular C-C-, C-O- and C-N-bond dehydrogenations. Defined pincer complexes have become useful tools for both transfer dehydrogenations as well as acceptorless dehydrogenations. Besides noble-metal pincer complexes, especially non-noble ones are increasingly applied in recent years.
