In this study, natural convection flow in a square enclosure filled with Ag-water nanofluid and with a heat conducting solid square body are carried out numerically. A two-dimensional solution for steady laminar incompressible flow is obtained by using the finite volume method based on the control volume approach. The study goes further to investigate the effect of the various thermal boundary conditions on the fluid flow and heat transfer inside the enclosure. The area of the solid body is changed at the centerline of the enclosure. Effect of area ratio of solid-enclosure, the thermal conductivity ratio of solid-fluid, solid volume fraction and temperature difference ratio of solid-fluid are studied. The flow and heat transfer characteristics are expressed in the form of streamlines and isotherms, respectively. (C) 2017 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
