Influence of nanoparticles of the clay nanomaterial laponite on the crystallization process of various polymorphic phases of the composite TPP/laponite was studied by infrared spectroscopy and differential scanning calorimetry method. It was shown that the presence of clay nanoparticles leads to the formation of a new crystalline phase of the composite stable at room temperature, which melts at 306.8 K. It was also shown that in this stable phase conformers of TPP molecule dominate, different from the conformers realized in other metastable phases of the composite. The glass transition temperature, as derived from the DSC heating curves, is found to be only minor influenced by the clay addition.
