The production of metal matrix composites (MMCs) has been a great challenge for research fraternity. A number of modified and hybrid techniques has been designed and developed by the researchers to tackle the fundamental issues related to production of MMCs. The fundamental issues are: uniform distribution of reinforcement, wettability of reinforcement with the matrix, porosity etc. In the present research experimental investigation, a novel technique has been designed and developed for the production of MMCs using stir casting route. The stir casting route consists of melt-stir-squeeze-bottom pouring to yield MMCs. Simulation of the experimental setup has been performed to optimize the stirring parameters such as blade angle, rotational speed and duration of stirring. The microstructure investigation has been performed to ensure the uniform distribution and bonding of reinforcement with the matrix.
