Nanosized oxides and oxide nanocomposites with various composition on their base with an average particle size 3-47 nm were obtained by a citrate method. Effect of the composition and morphology on catalytic activities in CO oxidation of Co-, Mn-, Cu-, Ce-containing oxide nanozised materials has been studied. It was shown that a doping of cobalt-containing catalysts with manganese,.opper and cerium oxides resulted in high dispersed states of these oxide components. Higher catalytic activities of the oxide nanocomposites in comparison with individual nanosized oxides can be caused by the presence of the active oxygen species formed on the interfaces of the oxide particles. The synthesized nanosized oxide composites as active catalysts in CO oxidation are perspective to use them as catalytically active additives to gas sensitive layers of semiconductor sensors purposed to determine carbon monoxide in air.
