Medical grade SKU-PFL polyurethane was treated with 20-keV nitrogen ions and implanted to rats. After one month, tissues with implanted polyurethane were sampled for histological analysis. Statistical analysis showed that the thickness of the tissue capsule around the foreign body is significantly lower for samples treated with polyurethane than for untreated samples.
